Matchbook: Feature Comparison at a Glance

◐Partially there, or mentioned without a mechanism

Core vs Amp. Everything added is marked one of two ways. Core items serve the memory goal and the growth goal at the same time, so cutting them costs you both. Amp items are purely growth. Drop any of them and nothing else breaks.

The short version

Added to the core, because they serve the memory goal as much as the growth goal: opponent confirmation and everything around it, guest opponents, real outcome types, doubles support, rivalry pages, venue as a real place, shared albums, and the privacy and safety layer that was missing.

Added as amplifiers, purely growth, all droppable: roast and milestone cards, tone control, comments and reactions, Year in Play as a story, the map, crews and seasons moved up a phase, and organizer-pays pricing.

Cut nothing. Every feature in the original roadmap survives somewhere in the plan.

If you want the smallest possible version, drop every Amp row. You'd still have a trustworthy shared record with confirmed results, rivalry pages, real privacy controls, and a memory archive that actually holds up over ten years. What you'd lose is most of the reason anyone new finds out the app exists.

One thing worth knowing before you cut deep. The memory payoff needs years of consistent logging to arrive. A solo journal with nothing pulling you back tends to lose people around month two, well before there's anything worth looking back on. Confirmation is what makes your opponent ping you next week. It's a growth feature and a retention feature at the same time, and the memory version of this product may need it more than the growth version does.
